How big are your gutters and downspouts?
Our seamless steel gutters are an oversized 5-inch fascia-style gutter which takes in 33% more drainage than ordinary alternatives. The steel downspouts are 3 in. x 4 in.
What is the difference between Andersen and Renewal by Andersen Windows?
Renewal by Andersen is the replacement division of Andersen’s Corporation, offering a window made completely out of Fibrex®. Fibrex is designed and manufactured to fit window openings in existing homes.
What is Fibrex® and how is it used?
Fibrex® is a composite material made up of 40% reclaimed wood fiber and 60% reclaimed chlorinated poly-vinyl chloride (CPVC). This gives our windows the strength, durability and insulating value of wood with the low-maintenance features of vinyl meaning it will never rot, all while greatly limiting thermal transmittance that can be found in other window materials such as metal. Unlike many other window materials, Fibrex® composite materials won’t flake, rust, blister, peel, crack, pit or corrode. Fibrex® is two times stronger than vinyl and resists warping and bowing.
Does Engstrom’s install the windows and doors or will we need to contract that out to another company?
We at Engstrom’s have the undivided responsibility to our clients to handle every aspect of the product from start to finish (from installation to clean up).
Do you offer financing?
Yes! We offer financing - anything from 12 months SAC (same as cash) with zero interest all the way up to 10 years on a fixed rate term loan.
How long are your quotes good for?
We can guarantee pricing for up to 60 days.
Do you use subcontractors?
Our siding, gutter and window crews are in-house. We work closely with a partnering subcontractor for roofing installations; however, you will still work with Engstrom’s directly throughout the entire roofing process.

Benefits of Premium Metal Shingles
Choosing premium metal shingles for your home offers a multitude of advantages, including exceptional durability, longevity, and aesthetic appeal. Unlike traditional asphalt shingles, metal roofs are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, providing superior protection against fire, wind, and impact. This robust performance translates into a lower risk of damage and fewer repair needs over the lifespan of your roof.
Furthermore, metal shingles contribute significantly to energy efficiency by reflecting solar radiant heat, which can reduce cooling costs in warmer months. Their resistance to chipping, peeling, rotting, blistering, and rusting ensures that your roof maintains its attractive appearance for decades, ultimately increasing your home's resale value and offering peace of mind.
Metal Roofing vs. Asphalt Shingles: A Comparative Analysis
When considering roofing materials, a comparison between metal shingles and asphalt shingles reveals distinct differences in performance, cost, and longevity. Asphalt shingles are a common choice due to their lower initial cost and widespread availability. However, they typically have a shorter lifespan, are more susceptible to damage from severe weather, and can degrade over time, leading to fading and shedding.
In contrast, premium metal shingles offer a significantly longer lifespan, often lasting 50 years or more, compared to the 20-30 years of asphalt shingles. While the upfront investment for metal may be higher, their durability, low maintenance requirements, and energy-saving properties often result in a lower total cost of ownership. The superior resistance of metal to fire, wind, and impact further solidifies its position as a more resilient and valuable roofing solution.
Understanding Roof Replacement Costs and Factors
The cost of a roof replacement is a significant consideration for homeowners, and it's influenced by a variety of factors. These include the size and pitch of your roof, the type of materials chosen, labor expenses, and any necessary structural repairs or upgrades. Understanding these elements is crucial for budgeting and making informed decisions about your roofing project.
Typically, roof replacement costs can range from $5,000 to $15,000 or more. Key cost drivers include the selection of roofing materials – with premium metal shingles generally costing more upfront than asphalt shingles but offering long-term savings. Labor costs are also a major component, varying based on the complexity of the roof, local labor rates, and the contractor's experience. Obtaining detailed quotes that outline all materials, labor, and potential additional costs is essential for accurate budgeting.
The Importance of Professional Roof Installation
Ensuring the longevity and performance of your roof hinges on professional installation. While DIY approaches may seem cost-effective, they often lead to subpar results and can void warranties. Experienced roofing contractors possess the specialized knowledge, tools, and techniques necessary to correctly install roofing materials, ensuring proper sealing, ventilation, and adherence to building codes.
A professional installation by a licensed and insured roofer like Engstrom's Siding & Window guarantees that your roof will provide optimal protection against the elements for its intended lifespan. This includes meticulous attention to detail, from underlayment application to flashing installation, all of which are critical for preventing leaks and structural damage. Investing in professional installation safeguards your home and provides peace of mind.
